Here is a new video from a women whose upcoming album of which I have shown much support for here on #IMFblog, Ciara. I feel not just men can agree, but you would have to be a jealous women not to admit that she is a sublime example of physical perfection. Her videos always amaze and thrill me. The shapes she makes with her body, the imagery pushes all the right buttons at all the right times. In my fashion, it channels very ninety's, and the all white works well with the ever-expanding dessert as her backdrop. In the one scene with the sleek long sleeve over size sweatshirt, she's keeping with the trend of the moment, layering, and it keeps well with her tomboy appeal. What is signature "Ciara", and is a part of her dress I see worn in a lot in her general look are those large pieces of fringe that tend to always swing from her legs. Some might say how pointless to wear, and how irrelevant they are to wear on a normal day, but they work for Ciara because of the way that she uses them to create a certain visual treat that other performers cannot provide. The visual imagery of all the parts working together come together so well, and as I said in my last Style Watch post for Ciara's video, "Sorry", her hair frames her face so sultry-like with her perfect bone structure, and makes her facial expressions more defined which lends a more empowered vibe to this women who knows what she wants from a man. The artistry of this video is so simple, but Ciara is consistently able to thrill us with her mesmerizing talent.

Style Watch: Ciara
Ciara is right on track with her promo for her new album to be released next month. She revealed her album artwork in June, the look of which I deemed positively "à la mode", and as of September 13, 2012 she has released her first video, "Sorry" for the album entitled, "One Women Army". This video says, "Ciara-style" all the way, especially considering this is yet another video where the movement of her body sucks you into the feel of the song, as if we were swallowing chocolate. As we saw in her album artwork her hair has gone from black to blonde, which in my fashion, was a good direction for her to go right now, especially at a time when this September's Vogue has proclaimed that, "Hair is the new makeup." Her new blond hair does well to frame her beautifully sculpted facial features. Ciara's healthy, luscious looking hair, coupled with her long, athletic frame make her such a specimen to be entertained by, especially considering the message of the song. This is actually a good song for my fellow men to pay attention to, not just because of her sheer sexiness, but even Dwight has told me that saying sorry does in fact go a long way when we find ourselves in the heat of the moment. Its about patience. In my fashion, this song is the Ciara-caliber we expect when she entertains.

à la mode: One Woman Army
Do you remember when Ciara debuted with the song “Goodies” in 2004, and from then on until around 2009 the standard look for girls became skinny pants with high-top tennis shoes or knee-length boots, cropped hoodies, and fitted hats; a trove of girls looking like “Goodies” extras. Now, in 2012, Ciara is slated to be releasing her 5th studio album, entitled “One Woman Army” in October, and as you can see below Ciara has a new look! When I got word that she released her album cover, I was floored when I saw her feathery long and blond hair, and her loosely fitted American flag sweatshirt, a pretty, very American, Farah Faucet look contrasted with the camouflage netting background that translates, “One Woman Army” in a simple yet very Ciara-edgy fashion. I was taken aback even more, when I realized her oversized sloppy looking leg warmers were actually detached and distressed pant legs from the also distressed shorts she is wearing. I felt this was a cute trend that I applaud for thinking outside the box because it brings a very personal and dynamic touch to the look she is going for on this album.

I can see girls wanting to add this personal touch to their pants themselves and, in my fashion, I can think of a few creative ways to enhance the look for added effect and personalization—think to add colorful tights or leggings, shorts with mismatched leg warmers combos, and just think of what other pieces would go along with this new take on legwarmers. It wouldn’t surprise me to see more girls being daring enough to wear such a hard look, but considering this Fall we will see an upsurge in pants and a fall in skirts (as we can expect from Miuccia Prada herself who states in this month's US Vogue, "Dresses have become too trendy"), this trend will be a diverse addition to the concept of wearing bottoms, and in my fashion, would be a defining trend of our decade, per said popularity.
I predict success for Ciara and her 5th album; considering her style, she would come back out when pants are going to be all the rage in fashion, considering it’s quite hard to dance the way she does in a skirt or long dress…hmm, long dresses. That would be an interesting and different approach, for her, in my fashion.
